It is that time of year where many of us will turn our clocks back 1 hour. In 1918 it was thought that daylight saving time would be a good idea, but it only lasted a year. Then it came back again during World War II, but was not made "official" again until 1966. Since then the days have adjusted several times. In 1986, Congress made daylight saving time the first Sunday in April, ending on the last Sunday in October. Then, most recently, in 2005, daylight saving time became the period between the second Sunday in March through the first Sunday in November. Not all states follow this and there is legistlation called the Sunshine Protection Act (which would keep the time at daylight saving time) that has been approved by the Sentate and still needs to be voted on by the House of Representatives. It has been found that this biannual change of the clocks does more harm then good. We shall see, but for now we will change our clocks back one hour on Sunday November 6th at 2 a.m. Enjoy your extra hour of sleep.
